President Heidar reports to the Meeting of States Parties to the Convention

Judge Tomas Heidar, President of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, today addressed the thirty-fifth Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea presenting the Tribunal’s annual report for 2024 and informing delegates of the ongoing judicial work of the Tribunal.

ITLOS regional workshop opens in Hanoi

Judge Tomas Heidar, President of the Tribunal, opened the seventeenth regional workshop of the Tribunal today in Hanoi, Viet Nam, focusing on “The Role of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in the Settlement of Disputes relating to the Law of the Sea”.


Open Doors Event on 30 April 2025

The Tribunal will once again be participating in the City of Hamburg’s “Long Night of the Consulates” on Wednesday, 30 April 2025, opening its doors to the general public from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Judge Tomas Heidar, President of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, received the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Ms Hua Chunying, at the Tribunal today.


Order in The “Zheng He” Case (Luxembourg v. Mexico)

By Order of 3 February 2025, President Tomas Heidar extends the time limit for the submission of the Memorial of Luxembourg to 24 March 2025 and the time limit for the submission of the Counter-Memorial of Mexico to 3 November 2025.
