Temporary Staff
The Tribunal periodically recruits temporary staff for short time periods to provide secretarial, administrative, legal or linguistic assistance during sessions and cases of the Tribunal. The working languages of the Tribunal are English and French. Interested persons are requested to submit a completed and signed ITLOS Personal History Form in English or French to personnel.
Junior Professional Officer Programme
The Tribunal has established a Junior Professional Officer programme for young professionals to serve in the Legal Office of the Tribunal’s Registry, or in other departments of the Registry, as necessary.
The programme is governed by the ‘Guidelines concerning the Junior Professional Officer Programme of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea’, as adopted by the Tribunal on 30 September 2021. Junior Professional Officers will be recruited under memoranda of understanding concluded between the Tribunal and participating States. A model memorandum of understanding between the Tribunal and a participating State can be found here.
